∆∆∆∆∆ New From Alt-J ∆∆∆∆∆

Ever since I heard the eclectic voice Joe Newman, I couldn't stop listening. I saw them this past year at Wrex The Halls in San Diego and was even more blown away by their heart pounding bass sound. They were one of the best live bands I have heard.

I have connected a few times with Thom (drummer) on twitter a few times. It is always special when band members take time to reply to their fans.

The band recently released two new songs off their up coming album, Hunger Of The Pine and Left Hand Free. Both are very different from their previous album An Awesome Wave but still have that new, never heard before sound of Alt-J. Left Hand Free has a sort of 60's throwback vibe, some say it reminds them of The Black Keys which I could kinda see but I don't believe you should compare musicians to other musicians. This song has more of a guitar sound than any of their other songs and is less dominated by the drums. Hunger Of The Pine has more of the original ∆ sound because all the sounds blend together and sound as one unit, to the point where its hard to point out which instruments are making what noises, this is why I love Alt-J.

Their music is so different that it makes me ponder about their inspiration. Various interviews have revealed that much of their songs are music translations of love and hallucinogens. Here's my favorite interview where they discuss Joe's use of shrooms while he was at the university.

PS I would highly recommend watching Blogotheque videos on youtube! They have a large variety of artists.

Lacy Bras

When this trend first appeared I wasn't too fond of it. I didn't understand why people were showing their bras. It is actually not a risque look, but a more subtle and almost innocent look. The soft lace brings out a calm relaxed look. Bralettes are so comfortable too! (I put bathing suit pads in mine just to give a little extra support.)

L'Homme Run- Interracial Dating lyrics

When Ezra Koenig of Vampire Weekend (my fav band) was in college him and Andrew Kalaidjian created L'Homme Run as sort of a joke.
They made funny songs but they wanted to be taken seriously, but they never were.
I hope one of you guys sees this!
MAKE ANOTHER RAP!

L'HOMME RUN- INTERRACIAL DATING

When I see your long black hair in the shower
Baby girl it feels just like you’re at home
When I see your plate left out on the table
Baby girl I know I’m never alone
When I see your long black hair in the shower
Baby girl it feels just like you’re at home
Baby girl you’re talkin’ and I will be listenin’
But somethings I just can’t tell from your tone

Verse 1 (Andrew)
Funny how it started we were both a little bothered
By the warning signs the ones behind the subtle vision
Still I had to make you mine
I got no time for big decisions
Rather call it on the moment
Well won’t it be better bring just a minute
Seconds start with just a distance
Past the hour
Faster now we’re
After hour
April showers
How your long black hair
Is at home
I planted these flowers
And just look how high they have grown

Chorus
When I see your long black hair in the shower
Baby girl it feels just like you’re at home
When I see your plate left out on the table
Baby girl I know I’m never alone
When I see your long black hair in the shower
Baby girl it feels just like you’re at home
Baby girl you’re talkin’ and I will be listenin’
But somethings I just can’t tell from your tone

Verse 2 (Ezra)
From here to Texas
Girls call me sexist
‘Cause I airbrushed your breasts
On the top of my lexus
But it’s just ’cause I fell in love with your solar plexus,
Your ribcage and your beaded necklace
So
So tell me what you wanna do
‘Cause another cup of cinnamon is comin’ through
I’m not Napoleon, I Waterloo
L’Homme Run got feelings too
And you pretty pretty pretty girls who sing
Are
The last thing that a guy like me wanna get inside his car

Chorus
When I see your long black hair in the shower
Baby girl it feels just like you’re at home
When I see your plate left out on the table
Baby girl I know I’m never alone
When I see your long black hair in the shower
Baby girl it feels just like you’re at home
Baby girl you’re talkin’ and I will be listenin’

But somethings I just can’t tell from your tone
